Last weekend my neighbors who have twin girls who just turned ONE!! I can't believe it, the time has gone by so fast.
The theme was a winter Woodland "ONEderland" theme; complete with red and white toadstool chocolate cupcakes, Raspberry cupcakes, and butterscotch acorns. Yum!
The cake was a birch tree log cake with Mama Deer and two fawns on top. My daughter made the fawn cookies which are on top of the wood slice.
We always use the same sugar cookie recipe and it's our favorite..they are so delish, not one was left.
The table centerpieces were very beautiful; a natural linen runner with a winter floral arrangement surrounded by doilies and tied with blue and white bakers twine atop of a wood slice surrounded by pines and pine cones was very elegant. It was such a beautiful and festive party I had to share here on the blog. I'm glad we were apart of it and I'm enjoying watching the sweet baby girls grow up. They also have an older brother who turned two a few months back and he had a Cars party and we also got to be a sugar cookie contributor. We made the Tow Mater truck cookies which I've been wanting to do a tutorial on how we made them because I think they turned out adorable but I'm a bit biased I know. My daughter Madison and I made these together. I think we should be able to open up our own sugar cookie shop soon! Ha!
Here was his little dessert table complete in the theme of the Cars...cute, huh? Can you see our Tow Mater cookies?
Yep, How ya doing y'all? {insert Tow Mater voice here} We got the cookie cutter off Etsy and used our standard sugar cookie recipe her again and added colored fondant for the details. It was really fun to do and I will try my best to put up a tutorial. We were so busy that day, having a volleyball yardsale and it was so hot I forgot to take picture of each step.
The party had a rustic theme with a pallet backdrop with some succulents in terracotta pots.
Even the centerpieces had some succulents in pots with some wildflowers in Oil tin cans on a chalkboard runner.
The Radiator Springs goody bags corralled in a turquoise cart was all set up for the guests at the door to take home. It sure has been fun baking these sugar cookie treats and being apart of the li'l peoples birthday parties, we are so pleased they moved in and look forward to many more birthday parties and watching them grow up.
