This past weekend we were busy with my eldest daughter's soccer tournament...but we were not just around the corner from our home so between games we headed to an outdoor mall, the Irvine Spectrum to shop for school clothes. Well my youngest daughter has been itchy to go to Brandy Melville...
I guess it's all the rage with the teenagers these days!!
Yes..it's one of those stores that says one size fits all except the jeans....
I thought the backpacks were cute in flowery prints of course...but...
it was how they displayed the items that I loved...old vintage crates, old books, ball jars mixed with t-shirts, shorts and patterned backpacks.
Cute? Huh?I thin I need to take some dried baby's breath and put some in my jars with some spools of thread.
vintage goodness at it's best...metal crates...old suitcase and bottles hold flowers...
I liked this shirt for me....because I'm a little weird...OK a lot!
and the shaka sign t-shirt...I thought that was cool....but most of the T-shirts were made of very thin material...and $21.00 a piece a bit rich for my blood. I like to pay $7.00 at Target for mine. My girls got a couple of t-shirts nothing too much. They really are great at displaying the clothes, we loved the ribbon around the hangers and how they wrapped ribbon all around the hangers too! Have you guys heard of Brandy Melville, what do you think?
While we were waiting for Brandy Melville to open I saw this great vintage style decorated Italian Restaurant...Cucina Enoteca. Hanging baskets of plants...made me all excited!!
Since it was 9:30 in the morning, they open at Lunch they were just getting ready for the day and let me take a few pictures of the place...look at all the varitey of colorful pillows and the rattan chairs. Lots of mixture of textures and colors.
I've never seen a grain sack pillow in green! Those tablecloths were so pretty and colorful.
Some tables were left bare with the zinc tops and wooden benches along with orange metal chairs...
Here is a zinc topped table which I would love to top the on-the-side-of-the-road-for-Mother's-Day-table I found for the back patio. I would of painted the chunky turned legs with a vibrant color on the tables without a tableclothes for some more pop of color.
Here is a little alcove for a large party....with a fireplace as a backdrop.
Lots of succulants...in galvanized planters that have been repuposed..
Like these chicken feeders that have planted herbs in them...have seen this idea on Pinterest and blogs.
Enamel wash basins...look super cute..I have a few of these laying around the Cottage on Cullen I would love to find a stand for them and plant more succulants around here.
I think this is an old steel/galvanized tub or feeder..love the plants overflowing over it. Again great use of texture in the decor, this time with plants.
Metal shelf with reclaimed wood {looks very similiar to this shelf from World Market} makes a great vignette...love the yellow metal toy truck.
The robins egg blue ice cream maker caught my eye on this shelf.
Demijohns are on display as you enter the entrance to the restaurant...
A metal-legged and wood bench is a great place to wait while waiting for a table, I bet this place gets crowded.
Looking inside, {I only took pictures of the outside eating area, I can imagine what it looked like inside} they look like they have a great wine selection....
I needed a maginfying glass to read the menu, well almost. Prices were not bad...for a Margherita Pizza it was 13 dollars...but the summer squash risotto looked good for $17.00, I know risotto is not the easiest thing to cook after learning how to make it in a cooking class this summer. I would love to come have lunch or dinner here for a special occasion. They did have a regular pepperoni and sausage pizza for my girls for 14.50. I would of loved to eat there, but it was morning so we went to Ruby's diner, where half of us could eat breakfast. If you are in the area...or visit California the Irvine Spectrum has a lot of stores and great places to eat. If you've eaten at Cucina Enoteca, what was your experience?
