The Cast of Characters {ala Pioneer Woman style}
You mix; the can of Pumpkin, can of evaporated milk, 3 eggs, 1 cup of sugar, {sorry forgot to put them in the picture} 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon in bowl...look how purdy it looks. {still channeling my inner PW }
pour this pumpkin yumminess in a 13x9 inch pan and top with Yellow cake Mix{ I know in the picture is shows butter but hey I'm flexible I just went with it and I got no complaints} , add a cup of chopped walnuts and span 2 sticks of melted butter over the top.
Put it in the oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Top with whip cream or Vanilla Ice Cream, it is soooo good. Sorry I didn't get to take a picture of it done I took it to my PTA meeting and it was gone so lickety split...I didn't even get to try it with the adapted cake mix. Oh well...I'll be making it next week for our Thanksgiving feast....
If you make something new this holiday season, you must try this. I promise you won't be disappointed. It is so easy and you will be shoutin' Yahoo!!
Ok...I'm attaching this post to Foodie Friday over at Designs by Gollum...
Linda..I've seen people do it with Cherry Pie filling or Apple. I've only used Pumpkin. My friend has the BEST peach crisp recipe that I'm going to beg her for the recipe and post that. I suppose you could limit the amount of butter but as Julie's Child says, "oh I love butter!"

Is there another version of this recipe. You referred to adapted cake mix version. Is there a recipe without all that butter? Sounds delicious. I'm anxious to try it.
