I haven't had much time to browse the Antique stores as of late or hit the neighborhood yard sales. We had a yard sale a few weekends back and got rid of mostly clothes. It's amazing how clean my garage is now because it is full of stuff but now I can park my car in there!!! Yea me!! It's slowly but surely becoming more organized in there which makes me happy. But this past week/weekend I hit several yard sales in my neighborhood, I swear I live in the Yardsale capital of the UNITED STATES, it seems like every street in a 20 mile radius there is a yardsale. Even though there where a ton of sales this weekend I didn't come up with a whole lot of loot but the above picture shows what I got. The straw hat and shell-heart trivet I got at my local antique haunt ...
I "needed" a new hat to wear to the beach, this one is a Laura Ashley one and I thought the weaving was very unique and pretty and I like the antiquey flower on it with it's crumpled muted colors.
The sweet trivet that symbolizes my two bloggy themes..hearts and the sea, in my signature color, how could I pass that one up. The little chicken wire basket with the tin containers matches a bigger one I have that I got at the Better, Homes and Garden website and use it to hold jars of ribbon on my scrapbook table or sometimes...I repurpose it to hold flowers...
The above chicken wire basket is the big one and the one below here is the li'l one...
I haven't decided what I'll do with the li'l one yet but pens, makers, paint brushes will all work great if that's what I decide to do. Do you have any other ideas? Would love to hear them?
Here is a close up of these sparkly rhinestone earrings and pins. Here is one idea that I thought I would do....
.....of course Andrea is a bottomless pit of inspirational ideas. mine were rather plain last year but this year I'll bling the mini pumpkins all up!! { I got a bag of fake gourds on sale after the season to use this up coming fall season}
Do you see that black lampshade? Well, it was 50 cents and she thru in a snickerdoodle to boot....I plan on covering it in burlap {the one you see under the rhinestones} I think I'll finish the edges in some pretty French ABC ribbon. I think that will be nice. I love the texture of Burlap, don't you? I also have seen people who have stenciled an intial or design on burlap and it's so inexpensive.
So head on over to Rhoda's place to see more Thrifty finds....which is where I'm headed next to see what more yard sale junkees have found over the weekend....
Okay, that hat is a great find, and I love the little basket. I have the bigger one too and it is still one of my favorite purchases.
We just had a garage sale to clear out our garage too. It feels so nice to be able to move things around in there. I finally got rid of a ton of scrapbook stuff. Why did I have to buy all that stuff in the first place? I'm happy someone else will get some use out of it!

Thanks for coming by. I alwasy enjoy your comments. I hope you'll become a follower and subscribe, if you haven't yet, so you can get all the updates. Sorry if you have already become a follower. It is so hard because some people who sign up I can't get to their blog and others it shows their name and not their blog but they don't sign the bottom of their posts so I get lost. I have lots of fun things planned and there are some fun give-a-ways coming very soon.
