This time of the year.
I know some people are big List Makers...I'm not...I try..but really I'm not good at that...I don't make resolutions either..I should...because there is a lot of room for Self Improvement and no one knows that better than me. What I do like to do is inch my way year after year towards being more organized. I like an Organized Home. And for the most part I do think it is pretty organized but there is always room for Improvement. This time of the year...it seems like all the Magazines focus on that and I love looking at their ideas and no one person does it better than Mrs. Martha herself....There are THREE areas in my home that need to be more orderly: That would be the Garage(which I will feature in another post), the Laundry Closet and My Craft Nook. In this Post I'll focus on my Craft NOOK. My Nook is in the corner of the Family Room.
I use a closet next to my craft table to store all my pictures in boxes, magazines, stamps, stamp pads, paint, material etc., Last year I started to decorate and organize but didn't quite finish(which happens to be a characteristic of me, not finishing things)...this year I'll finish that closet. I really need to just add a door organizer and sew some new curtains on my table since we got a new couch in the family room and the colors clash. Here are some ideas from the Martha Stewart website to inspire me as well as all of you...
I love the soft colors of the picture on the left, it's very simple. I have painted the inside of my closet a soft green. The picture on the right is more aniline with how my craft closet looks like. It's a combo of the two pictures..
Here is my current situation.
Here is the work table...pretty cleaned up since the Holidays..over to the left of the picture you can see my Pattern Paper in my basket...
but don't look under the skirt...
that is my sewing machine under the hood...papers just thrown on top..
over stuffed boxes of material for pillows to be made and my children's school projects that I have saved that need some kind of organizational system...
The above area is where I need to focus...my attention. Those are rubbermaids filled with ribbons...that's an area I need to organize or purge..oh my the thought!! To part with my lusious ribbons....
a whole box full of stamp pads...need a better home...those carts are all my rubber stamps, embossing powders, paints and misc. tools.
The table area I'm happy with...organized and to my liking....
all my pencils, pens, buttons and tools.
More ribbon, tags, buttons and german glass glitter..yum!! So this is my Resolution for this month....Finish organzing my craft space...I also need to fiqure out how to store my digital pictures since I got a new camera for Christmas.....so who is on board? Anyone else care to join me or do you have any tips for me...I would love to hear it...leave a comment
Great post. Please remove the music from your website or provide some way for visitors to turn the music off. I cannot both watch TV and browse the internet when I cannot turn the music off because both use the same computer and the same speakers. My fiancee finds it especially irritating.

Gee, you look pretty organized to me! What a great space! I always organize/deep clean after Christmas. I always think that if I start the year out organized maybe I'll keep it like that all year! Usually doesn't happen LOL!
