It's been a long time that I have composed a post, as the pandemic took a lot of me as a teacher. It was very, very hard to teach when we went into lockdown way back on March 13, 2020. Never in a million years did I think I'd go through something like that in my lifetime. If there is a silver lining in any of this, a small sliver of a silver lining would the all the technology I learned as a teacher. I self taught myself so many things to be an online teacher. As in a previous post I learned all about Bitmoji's and Google slides just to name a few. One project I started before the pandemic was a Google Sites. Then when there was time I would pick at it once in awhile. Finally...a pick here and a pick there ....I can say I've hit the publish button! Here is the Rainbow Warriors Google Site .
I was able to download some free resources on TPT such as the headings with the rainbow dots and customize it to my liking so it matches our classroom as well as my teacher Instagram. The polka-dotted buttons link to 6 different pages such as "Meet the Teacher", Daily Class Schedule, Class, Expectations, Parent Information, Online Resources, and a Contact Me page.
I've read a lot of different Instagram accounts and blogs as to why you would want a Google Sites or a Google Classroom or why you should have both. A Google Classroom is for the students, I use mine for posting assignments, links for videos, or to communicate with my class. The site is for the parents. Information specifically to our classroom all in one place. There is and about me page, as well as links to our Google Slides for Back to School night, Math Night, Literacy Night and much much more. I'm sure I'll add more links and items to the site as time passess but I'm pretty impressed with myself and glad it is finally done!
