Ingredients:
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
4 squares (1 oz. each) of unsweetened chocolate
2 cups of walnuts, chopped coarsely
2 cups of flour ( 1 cup whole wheat and 1 cup of white)
2 cups of quick cooking oats
2 teaspoons of vanilla
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of Butter (room temp)
1 1/2 cup of dark brown sugar, packed
Confectioners sugar
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 13x9 inch baking pan with foil. In top of double boiler melt chocolate and add milk stirring often until smooth. Remove from heat.
Mix flour, oats, baking soda and Salt.
Beat sugar,butter and vanilla in mixer until fluffy. Add flour mixture and beat just to blend. Mixture will be crumbly.
Firmly press 2/3 in bottom of lined pan.
Spread chocolate mixture evenly over top, then sprinkle with remaining flour mixture. Bake at 25-30 minutes or until light brown. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar (it sort of reminds me of snow).
