Every summer since my girls starting preschool I've put together a summer fun tote that I've given to them at the beginning of summer. When they were itty bitty's I would fill sand buckets with sunscreen, fun water toys and snacks.
As they have gotten older the item selections have changed. They are teenagers so nail polishes and magazines have taken the place of sand buckets. They get a new beach towel to start off the summer and some new flip-flops. I also add a good summer read, my other daughter I put in the book Paper Towns by John Green. She loves that author from A Fault in the Stars. I also had a few artsy stuff like the canvases and seeds to do some gardening on those days when I hear, "I'm bored what do I do now?". Sunscreens and snacks are a must, we love Pirate Booty, perfect little popcorn munchies.
I know a lot of schools are still in session so It's not to late to put together a Hello Summer Tote for your kids. They will LOVE it!
