Top 10 count down like I have done here and here . Boy..my projects have been a bit lackluster....this year what happened? Did I get absorbed in the black whole abyss of blogdom, getting inspired but not really doing anything with that inspiration. I think so. Maybe I need to start making more lists and sticking to them in the new year, let's put that at the top of my Resolution List. It is not for the lack of things that need to be done...I guess I'm a bit of a slowpoke or the blogasphere has hijacked my brain, how sad is that? Note to self: Get off computer and start doing something in the year Twentyten!
I did a pretty good job at the beginning of January {last year} to organize my garage that house my plastic bins and bins of stuff. I slowly have been buying those tall metal rolling shelves from Costco and boxing and shelving my "crap" stuff in them. I also have been getting rid of all my cardboard boxes and replacing them with clear plastic boxes, I really like seeing what is in them and I also label them with the items as well as putting cute stickers on the boxes. I have a ton of school stuff when I used to teach full time and really have gotten rid of lot of school crap items but still have quite a bit that I'm keeping for the "one day" when I go back to teaching full time, maybe when I'm 80 at the rate I'm going!!
Top 10: Garage Organization
Top 9: Chicken Wire Curio cabinet
Here is a before...
and an almost after...
I got this cabinet at the Goodwill and wanted to do a patchwork quilt design our of wall paper remnants, to kind of match the Doll Quilt on the bed. I would wallpaper the inside back and a haphazard sort of way. I have a few but would like to get more in the designs that cordinate with the"shabby chicish" or "cottagey" ones I already have. Here are the few samples I have picked up thus far. Need to hit some more Flea Markets to get some old fashioned wall paper then I can officially say I'm done and not almost done.
Top 8: Kenzie's Pink Chandelier
Top 7: Fall's Glittered Pumpkins
Top 6: Painted Adirondack bench with green damask cushions from TJ Maxx
Top 5 : Mop Bucket Planter and repainted Cottage Lover sign got the idea how to do it here
I don't think I posted about this one. I got the frames from Target, you can see they are plain white and I got a can of apple green spray paint from Joann's with 40 percent coupon of course. I have a ton of scrapbook paper and a scalloped oval punch. Bam...you get a cute decor item for your very cute girl's room. I couldn't stop there I had to go back and get more frames and make some for Miss Kenzie's room...to match the style of her room.
{come back tomorrow and I'll show you where I put the cute frames with the dresses in them, I have been rearranging the girls room all last week like a MAD woman}
I had this stripey cushion made for my bead-board bench that sits next to the front door. As I look at this peeling paint of the bench in this photo I'm feeling it needs another paint job, maybe in a fun Robin's Egg blue..what ya think?
Pillow for my family room couch that I hand stenciled the Chez Moi with fabric paint. Mistakes and all!! The paint bleed through the stencil and now I'm thinking what and how should I fix it. Maybe but a rosette flower over the top. Don't know. The kid was a creation done way back in 2000...so she doesn't count.
Hand embroidered pillow made out of Pottery Barn Placemats. Here is another mistake I should of used a bigger pillow form to fill it out more but I did learn one think while sewing up this pillow....the slipstich!! Yea me!!
I would like to get one more of those Ruffly white pillows on there along with a down comforter to make our bed all comfy cozy for cold winter nights and mornings. Yes it gets cold here in California People!! Like in the 60's and I think that justifies needing a down comforter.
Top 1: Organized Recipe Binder
Over the years I have tore out recipes from magazine or printed them from the different websites. So I made a binder with different sections in it and put all the "tear outs" into individual plastic sleeves. This was one thing on my to do list that felt so good to cross off my list. What have you done this past year I'd love you to share yours of what your going to accomplish in the year Twentyten....

Thanks Ellie , your friends kitchen is to die for , it is a dream ,lucky lady , I would love to know the price of that sink .

Great recap post! Loved the small frames. I bought a couple of those when they were at Target, and I never ended up doing anything with them. You inspired me to go dig them up. lol
Are you reading, or did you read "Still Alice"? I finished it last week. OMG. My heart breaks for people with Alzheimers.
