Who said, Orange and Black are the colors for Halloween?
You might of remembered my li'l old shopping cart I got from here ...It has stayed in the living room the whole year waiting to be put to good use. Sure my girls had a great time with it for a total of 22 minutes when I brought her home so she sat by the window biding her time, she new her day would come. I new I wanted to do something in the fall with her but I just wasn't sure what. Well I went to the Nursery and saw all the beautiful fall plants and pretty soon my car was loaded up, I made one more stop to the 99 cents store for liners. Do you folks have a 99 cents store where you live? In California we have lots. We also have the Dollar Tree. But the 99 cents store has plants so I picked up a few Gerber daisies and Klanochoe {spelling ?} for that's right 99cents, everything in the store is 99 cents. How is that for a bargain?
Check out that little Pin cushion plant nestled in the planter...oh you want a closer look..don't be scared.
Doesn't it look adorable, like little baby pumpkins, got it at my local grocery store {Vons} and had to "sneak" the cute li'l thing into the cart. { I also got a Venus Fly Trap for my Daughter, now that IS spooky, she has been taking it to school with her and sharing it with her class}. the li'l pebbles that spell SPOOKY are from a craft night I had with my Scrapanos group. We made them on the cricket and just glittered them. So simple to do and cute, don't ya think?
The wooden pumpkins on the stakes are also from the grocery store...boy, it sure is dangerous to go grocery shopping these days...maybe I should give that job up too!! { I gave up the Checkbook job a few years ago, so glad I did, I wasn't any good at it} But I don't think I could convince Mr. Incredible to take over the grocery shopping too!
Look at Broomhilda...guarding her freshly planted garden. I love the look of Ornamental Kale in a planter, it just says "Autumn's here". I just noticed that in this months November Issue of Better, Homes and Gardens there is an article on these spectacular cousins of the cabbage family so go check it out. They used galvanized buckets and planters for the Kale, which if you have been following my blog for sometime you know I'm a lover of galvanized buckets or galvanized anything, see? But this year I was going for a orange and aqua blue theme on the porch and I think it's very complimentary...
don't mind my weeds...I thought it added to the spooky ambiance I was trying to create...{it seems like I just weeded the other day}.....maybe I can get Mr. Incredible to take over that job since the Grocery shopping was a no go....
Hope you are having fun "spookifying" your home for Halloween night!! I am!!
I'm off to the very scary place of the grocery store....
