C is for Crafty!

This Lady is a creative genius...I love her style, her name says it all Posie, Rosy Little Things.  They are handmade and homespun.  I love that. I bought this Kit last month from her website  and this is the weekend for the girls and I to put them together, aren't theyscrumptiouss?  We have been off for 5 days, so I think it's time we start and finish this project.  MacKenzie has decided she wants to go with a Dolls theme with her Christmas tree this year and I think the Doll in the kit would be  perfect on her tree.  Now speaking of dolls...have you seen the Doll Ornaments at Anthropologie?   OMG!  Can you say crafty cuteness!!   I'm in heaven...except for the price.  I think we could afford to buy one a year and add to it one ornament at a time.    Now...my favorite is the Milkmaid in the middle....isn't she beautiful?  I love her colors on her dress and the heart pockets and the button up-collar blouse and check out her striped stockings.....So...as always when I get a "WILD HAIR"..not gray hair but a wild hair we dropped off Madison at a Birthday party and my li'l one and I trekked on down to Fashion Island to the Anthropologie store..and my girl picked up one darling ornament for the tree. here she is.  I wish I could make things this exquisite.  Don't you?

  Now..here is a book that I would love to get....to help me reach that goal of crating things like this it's by Alicia Paulson of the above Ice Skating trio fame...it's hitting the book stores as I type.  You'll bet it's going on my Santa List this year.

So girls...make some time to make some homemade gifts...who needs Black Friday...

Long Beach Flea Market

 Last month my friend Beca and I hit the Long Beach Flea Market....I wanted to share sooner but I got really, really busy.  So here are a few of the things we saw.  First up my big ole butt!  Naw...Actually Beca was taking a picture of my cart which I got at the Rose Bowl Flea a few months back...I need to sew a liner for it because this green one goes to my daughters hamper and I just threw it in there.  I have a million things on my TO DO LIST..don't we all.

 Isn't this water fountain interesting?  Made out of an old cooler.  There were more..but I ran out of space on my camera.

  We liked this booth, it was all done up in white...my signature color.

  Don't you love all this white crusty stuff?

I loved how they covered all these old books in scrapbook paper.

 

    I would of loved to buy this all and put them in every door in my house!!

  My husband's grandmother has one of these...here is hers .  This must of been really popular in the 70's...because I see them at everywhere.

"Is it snowing Mama?"

  That was my wake up call question today.  No sweetie those are ashes on our car.  It is raining down ashes and we have been locked in our house all day for two days. We had to cancel our Soccer game because of it. I have Asthma and I'm afraid breathing in this horrible air quality I'm sure it will make me sick.  It's just terrible to think that there is some people diliberetly start these fires.  I can't for the life of me wrap my mind around that concept.  Why?  I feel for those that have lost their homes.  You might of remember this post .  My brother lost his whole house and my Mom lost ALL of our Family Photo Albums and pictues.  That is the hardest part when you lose your history.  History that is shown in the pictures..you can't ever get that back.

  I'm taking my girls to my Alma Mater's Homecoming game tonight.  Let's go Matadores, let's go!!  Let' go Matadores let's go!!!!  

My Boy's are back...

  So glad I can look forward to this tonight!   I love the banter between these two and they are easy on the eyes too!  I definitely like McSteamy over McDreamy....that slightly cocky attitude of his....gets me every time.   I love Grey's Anatomy but last weeks episode with the pigs...made me sad.  I don't' like to see any of that kind of stuff.  My husband likes to watch hunting shows and I just can't be in the same room with him when he does.  Then he turns to me and says, "I can't believe you can watch that show with all the people getting hurt, esp children...how can you watch that!"  But it's different because most the time they are saving them on the show.  Where will you be at 9:00 P.M?

  Do you have a wreath on your door?  Most the time I do.   Usually it's seasonally but sometimes it's just a basket full of seasonal foilage.  There are so many choice out there and here are a few I found while doing some drive bys.   {click on any picture to enlarge}

  Here is my good friends House, she just remolded her kitchen so in a couple of weeks I'm going to get some photos and show you it...you will love it so stay tuned.

  Now here is my sad wimpy looking wreath...I think it needs a facelift or maybe the door needs a facelift...I think a black would look good like my friends.

  Here is my neighbor across the street..she has another beautiful wreath and I think she told me she got is HomeGoods or BigLots....

    Now here is some I'd like to buy someday or maybe if I was talented enough to make.  My Mom was excellent at making wreaths.  She would make them and put them on her front windows.  She would gather the remnants of branches at the Christmas tree farm and twist them together to make a wreath. She'd add a few berries and walaa...she have a beautiful  Christmas wreath.  Check out the ones below.  The first one is from Smith and Hawken called the Spice Wreath.  So colorful and fun.

  I cried last night and I cried this morning.  To think that this man did what so many people thought he couldn't do.  Even one of his good friends who worked for the Clinton administration said, "'Barack, this isn't your season".   But he did it anyways, he will become the 44th President of the United States.  Shaka to you Mr. President Elect.

My Wisteria Lane...My Favorite Street in Calif....

Happy Dia De Los Muertos!!!

In other words I would love to live on this Street...near downtown Fullerton, Calif.  My friend  Becca   lives near here and her sister lives on a street here.  She tells me this street embraces the Halloween spirit!!  So the other morning with my trusty Canon G9  I set out on foot to capture some more "PORCHES on Parade".   So let the parade begin...

  The houses in this neighborhood has a lot of 1900's Craftsman Bungalows.....who doesn't love an old Bungalow...I'll have me one of those please! 

  But I wish I knew how to photoshop those Political signs out of the pictures...it's ruining my "beautiful picture moment" here...

  Now this house has a whole Stars wars theme going in in the front of the house.....The Storm Troopers.
