On March 28th a very cute and chubby baby was born with a characteristic Tucker Dimple in her chin....I was the Apple of my father's eye....Who could blame him, I was a darling baby if I do say so myself.

We are trying to grow our own grass..for the Easter baskets..we do it every year BUT as you can see Easter kind of snuck up on us this year, being so early and we got a late start growing the grass I don't think they'll be ready...we are keeping our fingers crossed though.

Over to the left is our grass..come on guys, GROW!

  I was at Vons shopping for Easter Dinner on Thursday.  You say?..What is on the Menu?

Well, I am going to attempt to make my first Ham for Easter...since I was so successful  with the Corn Beef and Cabbage, I feel as though I have my Cooking Mojo going on right now...Along with the Ham there will be red potatoes with chives.  A Spring-Strawberry Salad that looks so yummy, got the recipe from here it has Gorgonzola cheese in it and of course strawberries.Some Dinner Rolls and Wine.  I am also going to make my Once a year Carrot Cake...It is so good..really, really good and moist. I thought I may put this nest on top in the whole of the Bundt Carrot Cake. I have never cooked my Carrot Cake in a Bundt pan, I have always used a 13x9 pan but I see that Pioneer Women copycat recipe uses a bundt pan even though she is using a sheet cake probably because she has a whole lot of cowboys to feed on the ranch.

I hope you get a basket filled with all kinds of yumminess...

I wanted to leave you with this favorite Green basket with the pretty patina, yet it is from Martha! Can you tell I love the gal.I love the rustic patina on this basket? 

They have one very similar at Vons...in blue..I resisted getting it, while shopping for our Sunday dinner on Thursday. Yes..I resisted..can you believe that?  It is still on my mind. I may have to go back and get it. There are so many cute things when I go to Vons I have to start shopping with blinders on...in other news.......

How about making one of these for your garden..so simple.  I can't remember the source..it was someone at the Community of Cottage Living.  I'll have to see if I can track down the source. Wouldn't these be cute with some strawberries in it for the summer?

and now many trips to the Nursery will be in order for Spring planting.

This Weekend we got a date night and I choose to see this..

I really liked this Movie...but what struck me about the Main Character Juno , she reminded me so much of my good friend.   She has that witty sense of humor and really loves music like the character in the movie. She can be quirky and sentimental, which is what I love so much about her. I love witty people, I wish wittiness came natural to me...and I admire people who are like that.  If you have a chance to see the movie I highly recommend it, even my husband liked it even though he was one of three men in the theatre.

the Night of...March 17th..

They found it!!  It was hidden under the Orange Tree...The oldest didn't want to go in and get it on account of spiders...yes..Black Widows have been seen in the area last summer...even the Latina Species...(that is another story for another day)

It was a hit with my girls..DH not so much.

I did make cabbage but then I decided against it being that I might of cooked it too long, it was opaque and wilty..The girls loved the Corned Beef and Red Potatoes are always a hit at our House.

Hope you all had a Great Saint Patrick's Day!  We sure did!!

HAPPY SAINT PATTY'S DAY TO YE...

Here is my Irish lookin' girl.  She has greenish eyes and brown hair and lots of cute freckles.  She picked me this Shamrock Bouquet you see next to her picture...from our YARD, didn't know I was growing them?!!!  We don't have a lick of Irish in us...but we do Celebrate this holiday, go figure. It starts like this;  The girls wake up to Shamrock Kisses all over their faces, left by the Leprechaun..he has been playing tricks again and has turned all of the milk GREEN....So for Breakfast they'll have a bowl of Lucky Charms with Green Milk.

  Later on the Wee ones will go in search of Gold that the Leprechaun has left behind...

For dinner sometimes we eat a Traditional Irish meal such as Corn Beef and Cabbage and other times we eat Green food..the kids like the Green food better than the Irish food but I'm trying to find a recipe that they'll all like...any suggestions?

Do you ever Wake up and want to go......A

CRAZY

You kind of wake up and you feel sort of rebellious....You drive a little faster, maybe cut some one off for the "hell" of it.  Maybe peel out in the process just because....you may cuss a little more that day...flip some one off if they mess with you!   You want to dance crazy in your living room for no reason....When you were younger you did things like this on a normal basis...some objectionable things..I know I did...I wasn't a Saint. 

...I had a Convertible...a Red Cabriolet...that said, "I LOVE going topless."  and I flashed my Tata's on occasion...Here I am "A La Demi Moore" performing on the bar at "Our Cabin" up in Big Bear..circa 1983

Fast forward to 2008 as we were coming home from Hollywood Video this is what we saw

Oh to be Young...without any inhibitions...we got Mooned...my girls thought it was the funniest thing they ever saw....there were three of them and only one was brave enough to skateboard down the street like this....

Silly Boys!!   Do it now before you turn into a Responsible parent who drives the speed limit and never says bad words......but I still can dance naked in the living room listening to this guy, can't I?

I feel like Nesting, Nesting. (insert the tune of I feel Like dancing, dancing)

I can remember when I lived in Hawai'i and I had the cutest house.  It was a Lime Sherbet green with a wood wrap around porch.   Soo very cute..so very cute.

I wanted to feel like Nesting..that urge to decorate and make a home.  Granted I was single...teaching my little Menehunes...

That feeling never happened while in that cute house.  BUT NOW...that's ALL I want to do

I got it last year and it came with Malted Robins Egg candy, the candy did not survive this year so..I had to get something to fill it for this year to put in it.  Do you think I should Speckle the eggs?  You know splatter them with brown paint?

   

I love Lilly of the Valley...and Trader Joes always has them this time of the year...they are so cute, if there was ever a flower labeled cute it would be them.  And they have the most heavenly scent...can't you just smell them? 

I love to decorate this Candlelier..from this place.  I saw these Robin's eggs on her blog and so I went to my local TJ Maxx and then to Marshall's where I found them. They were very reasonable for $6.99.  I thought they look pretty with the Moss in it. I think it says, "Welcome Spring!"
